Boho Chic Wine Tour

Yesterday I went to Temecula on a winery tour for my friends birthday and couldn't resist rocking a boho style while sipping some wine! I paired a plain black dress with a long black and white kimono, black chunky heels and a fringe purse. Of course this outfit needed a pop of color, so I threw on a fun colored necklace. It was perfect for a day at the vineyards with some great friends!

Spring Has Sprung

Spring is officially here, flowers are blooming, and the bright and fun colors of the season are ready to burst out of my closet! Today I went bold with red and pink thanks to some late night style Pinspiration.

Headpieces Galore

The other day my friend told me I love headpieces, meaning hats and headbands. And it's true, they instantly change the look and feel of any outfit. Plus I feel so 70s in them, which I love! In fact, recently I started buying felt hats. I'm only at two, but every time I'm on Pinterest I find five more I want!

What's your fashion fetish?

Margaritas & Stripes

Over the weekend I went to Old Town San Diego and felt like I was in a playground with all the amazing photo locations! So today's post is about margaritas and stripes! I paired a simple striped t-shirt with a leather accent (that's one of those details I told you Zara is known for), with some shiny leggings and a chunky blue and green necklace to bring some color into the outfit. What I've really gotten into is mixing the unexpected. For some the stripes may have been enough, but I couldn't go to a place known for its rich color palate and amazing textiles without jazzing my outfit up with. Plus a little sparkle goes great with an ice cold margarita!

What are your favorite fashion pieces to mix?

Shirt, Zara (they usually always have these, I believe it was about $19); Necklace, Zara; Leggings are from a local San Diego store (but you can pretty much find something similar anywhere. I actually hear Kohl's is a great place to look for these); Jacket, H&M (it's old, sorry)

Layering the Unexpected

In my opinion every piece of clothing can be worn multiple ways. Just look at each piece as a blank canvas thinking about what to add to complete it. In today's outfit my skirt is actually a dress that I  wore backwards (zipper is actually supposed to be in the front) and layered under an oversized sweater. Try it! Not everything is just simply a shirt or dress, think of the wardrobe possibilities!!

Leather & Leopard, Oh My

I love leopard print, anything leopard print, there I said it, it's out there for the world to know!  I have shoes, scarfs, dresses and tops (I've been eyeing these leopard pants from Zara to add to my collection too!) in an array of color combos and materials.

Today I combined leopard with one of my newer favorite textiles, leather, or in reality, faux-leather. My outfit today made me feel a bit 70s and bohemian, with the flowy top and my tan booties.  I wish all my clothes could be boho cause I swear I should have been born in the 70s, my favorite fashion decade (more to come on that)!

Top H&M (old, sorry all this is one of those tops I've had in my closet for years); Pants Zara; Scarf was actually a handmade birthday gift (thanks Annie!); Shoes, my go to DSW booties
